• Apr 30, 2009  Hey guys, I can't figure out how to use a new microphone with garageband. It plugs into the line-in part on my gf's MBP (the one next to the headphone port, right?), and i choose 'Line-In' from the sound preference pane. But it's still using the internal mic when recording on garageband.
• Jun 20, 2019  I can also recommend the M-Audio M-Track 2X2M. I use one myself and very happy with it on Mac and iPad. The price is very affordable. Specs very comparable to the Audient ID14, with less features though (e.g.: ADAT input, separate cue mixes via control software), which if you don't need, would save you a chunk of money.

Can I Use Apogee One With Ipad Garageband 2

I am on a search for a better interface for my ios recording and this has led me to apogee. is there any users of these interfaces here and if so what opinions do you have? I like the fact that you can charge the ipad while using.
Is there a significant improvement in quality over M-audio etc. Is the extra money well spent? Thanks in advance.

Can I Use Apogee One With Ipad Garageband 2

• I've been using Apogee interfaces for about 5 years now, starting with the original FireWire Duet on the Mac. I now have the new Apogee ONE for iPad/Mic and I love it.
  Definitely a big step up in quality over M-audio, in every way.

• Hahaha @Sebastian, I was already typing a response!

• I have a One. Love the quality of sound I'm getting and the convenience of a mic (which sounds great even though it doesn't look like it would) and an instrument jack. Makes for quick setup and great sound.

• Apogee sound quality is excellent. The Duet also has great physical control -- the huge dial is a plus.

  If you're even considering using the MIDI port on the Duet, just be aware that it is very simple: it seems to only be useful for plugging in a MIDI keyboard or controller. I haven't been able to get MIDI out of it even by connecting a class compliant/dumdum MIDI interface that works fine with the CCK.

• Am I correct in understanding that the One only allows a 1/4 inch and an XLR but not 2 1/4 inch inputs?

  No way to record in a stereo signal? Seems odd for the price.

• Thanks everyone, my main concern i suppose is sound quality and you have made it clear that is awesome. Has anyone used the phantom power as that is something I require, reliable? I am leaning toward the duet for the dual pres but the more I hear about the one the more research on that I want to do. I live in a region of Canada that unless I drive a day I cannot try them so your comments really help!!

• I have the one and it is a cool interface. It's not meant for stereo recording, if that's a main use then get the duet for sure. One is really meant for a solo musician or small needs. I do get some noise sometimes, I think it's the wiring in my house. I haven't had any issues with phantom, although it must be plugged into power to provide it.

  The sound quality is great though. I wish it had actual line outputs rather than an 1/8' stereo jack, but it does sound great. I compared it to my Alesis io4, which sounds pretty good, but the apogee definitely had more depth and space. I think that speaks well of the Alesis (which was $70), and also of the apogee.

  I record in stereo all the time, just use one of these connected to XLR input 1.

• Duet user, since it came out. Run stereo to it with a voyager, Juno 106, and strymon pedals all the time. Great for guitarist who want a midi keyboard at the same time, with a small footprint (just a little hairy wight the cables, but a fair trade for space IMO). Probably get the next iteration of a quartet if there ever is one.

• Little question to Apogee users: I can't use 'Duet' on the go without power adapter connected, no?

  For this I need the 'One' with AA battery inside, I'm correct?

  But the 'One' is without usb midi port

  You need external power for both. But you can use an external battery pack for the duet or one with a barrel end connector cable. Make sure your battery pack has an option to output the correct voltage and enough mA. The one works without charging the iOS device with 5v (with powered USB hub) or works with charging the iOS device with 12v, not sure what the duet requires. I use a battery pack with my one because the AAs don't last very long.

• With my Anker 20,000mAh I can go all day easy if using 5v mode even with a bunch of other USB devices plugged into the hub.

• Is there any way to use midi controller with apogee one?
